Suokone acquires Hese road graders business of J. Varila Steel
Suokone Oy has acquired the Hese road graders business of J. Varila Steel Oy. Road graders
manufactured by J. Varila Steel have already been sold through some of Suokone’s distribution channels under the brand name MeriGrader within the MeriRoad product family. The MeriRoad product family includes tractor mounted crushers, vibrating plates and graders used in gravel road maintenance.
Lantmännen Agro Ltd will continue to sell road graders in Finland under the Hese brand.
D. Gutzwiller SAS, which sold the same road graders under the MeriGrader brand in Central Europe, will continue to sell road graders under the same brand name. MeriGraders are also offered by other Suokone importers. Suokone Oy is responsible for supplying spare parts for these graders both in Finland and abroad.
“Graders are an important part of the MeriRoad product family. Manufacturing them here in Vuokatti is ideal, as it fits between the manufacturing seasons of our other products. Our factory is ready to manufacture road graders; for example, our new welding robot can handle all the components for the grader,” says Suokone Oy CEO Tuomo Meriläinen.
The acquisition will be announced at the Helsinki Agricultural Machinery Trade Fair on Thursday 17 October 2024. The road graders at the exhibition are the last to be manufactured by J. Varila Steel Oy, as the next machines will be manufactured in Vuokatti by Suokone Oy.
